Terms and Conditions

By purchasing, installing, or using the glowswitch device (“Device”), you (“User,” “You,” or “Your”) agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Device.

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms govern your use of the glowswitch device. The Device is manufactured and distributed by glowswitch (“Company,” “We,” “Us,” or “Our”). 

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to agree to these Terms. By using glowswitch, you represent that you have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.

3. License to Use

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable (except as permitted under Section 10), revocable license to:

  • Use the Device for personal, residential, or commercial purposes;
  • Install and operate the Device in compliance with applicable laws and safety standards.

You may not reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or modify the Device’s internal hardware or firmware for purposes other than personal use or repair.

4. No Data Collection

The glowswitch device does not collect, store, transmit, or share any data — including usage data, network information, location, or diagnostics.

The Device operates locally and does not connect to the internet, cloud services, or third-party platforms unless explicitly stated in the product packaging or manual.

5. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Install and operate glowswitch in accordance with all included instructions and applicable electrical, building, and safety codes;
  • Assume full responsibility for proper installation, use, and maintenance;
  • Not use the Device in any manner that violates laws or endangers persons or property;
  • Consult glowswitch support or a licensed electrician if unsure about installation.

6. Intellectual Property

All design, trademarks, patents, and intellectual property rights in the glowswitch Device remain the exclusive property of the Company or its licensors.

Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of IP to you. You are granted only the right to use the Device as intended.

7. Warranty

The Device is covered by a limited hardware warranty for 30 days from the date of original purchase. This warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal use.

Not covered: Damage from misuse, improper installation, modification, or acts of nature.

Warranty claims require proof of purchase.

EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY STATED HEREIN, THE DEVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS.”
WE DISCLAIM ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, COMPANY SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM USE OF THE DEVICE — INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO PROPERTY DAMAGE, ELECTRICAL FAILURE, OR PERSONAL INJURY.

OUR MAXIMUM LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE DEVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE ORIGINAL PURCHASE PRICE PAID BY YOU.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Company, its affiliates, and employees from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

  • Your installation, modification, or misuse of the Device;
  • Your violation of these Terms or applicable laws;
  • Third-party claims related to your use or resale of the Device.

You may transfer your rights under these Terms along with the physical Device upon resale.

12. Termination

These Terms remain in effect as long as you own or use the Device.

We may terminate or suspend any limited support services (if offered) for violation of these Terms. Termination does not affect your right to continue using or reselling the Device.

13. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom, without regard to conflict of law principles.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on the glowswitch online store.

Your continued possession or use of the Device after such posting constitutes acceptance.

15. Miscellaneous

  • Entire Agreement — These Terms, plus any warranty documentation provided with the Device, constitute the full agreement between you and us.
  • Severability — If any provision is held invalid, the rest remain in effect.
  • Waiver — Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
  • Assignment — You may transfer these Terms along with the Device upon resale. We may assign these Terms without notice.
